Zine:

During my internship at the CSU-Dominguez Hills, Gerth Archives I had the opportunity to process a collection from former CA state assemblyman, Paul T. Bannai. He was a WWII veteran, father, politician, and played a significant role in the redress and reparations proecess towards Japanese -Americans who were wrongfully incarcerated during WWII.
At the archive I was tasked with three main duties:
Process the Paul T. Bannai Papers and publish the finding aid
Create an informational outreach presentation regarding the collection
Evaluate archives as a career
Evidence for the completion of this work can be found in the links above, and greater explored through the Artifact Repository.

Working with this collection has easily been one of the most frustrating and rewarding experiences of my career. Frustrating in regards to the pressures I put on myself to make this archival collection "perfect", but overall rewarding because this was the first time I was truly able to feel like a legitimate archivist. This was also a significant collection to work with because it fulfilled my desire to elevate minority voices in the archival space.
