CSU-Long Beach was the university closest to me while I was growing up in Southern California. Having the opportunity to work with a university that serves such a racially diverse student body further fulfilled my desire to work in a university.
During my time as an intern with their library I was given the following tasks:
Evaluate academic librarianship as a career
Observe and teach course integrated library instruction sessions
Develop and lead instructional workshops on general research topics or other topics of interest
Increase reference skills for academic libraries
Proof of task completion and experience can be found in my greater Artifact Repository found at the top of this page.

This internship was my first real opportunity to work within an academic library setting as a librarian. Despite having done some student work in my undergraduate career, this internship made me feel like a real librarian. One of my most rewarding experiences was whenever I was scheduled to be on the reference desk. I was lucky enough to work one-on-one with the students, showing them how to use their library resources and using effective search strategies to further their research.
